We are thrilled and deeply honored to announce that the highly advanced construction vessel "REM Pioneer" has been selected as one of the three finalists for the prestigious Ship of the Year 2026 award! The official list of nominees was announced on June 24th by the renowned Norwegian maritime magazine Skipsrevyen.

As Nelton, we are incredibly proud to have played a pivotal role in this groundbreaking project. Our engineering team was responsible for developing and delivering the complete engineering package, including the detailed structural and piping design.

A Green Revolution: The First "Net Zero" Subsea Construction Vessel

The "REM Pioneer" is a next-generation, multi-purpose Energy Subsea Construction Vessel (ESCV). Currently being built at the Norwegian shipyard Myklebust Verft for the shipowner Rem Offshore Group, it is based on the innovative ST-245 design by naval architects Skipsteknisk. This vessel sets entirely new benchmarks for eco-friendliness, sustainability, and operational efficiency within the offshore and renewable energy sectors:

Advanced 3D Engineering at Its Best

The engineering package for the "REM Pioneer" was successfully executed by the Nelton Design team over several months of intensive work. The entire project was fully modeled in 3D using Cadmatic software. Digitally mapping out every detail of the hull structure and complex piping systems allowed for complete spatial optimization and ensured error-free integration during the assembly phase at the shipyard.

This nomination for Ship of the Year 2026 is the ultimate proof that close, transparent, and collaborative synergy between the shipowner, the yard, the main designer, and engineering suppliers yields spectacular, world-class results.

We extend our warmest congratulations to our esteemed partners: Rem Offshore, Myklebust Verft, and Skipsteknisk! We are keeping our fingers crossed for the final verdict, proud to be shaping the new, green era of maritime innovation together.
